From traditional advertising, to digital experiences, to enterprise software and now to helping companies put technology and design at the center of everything.
The Journey:
Learning to understand the problem
before looking for the solution
At NY's Newsday, I was a part of a team of information designers, just beginning to make the transition to digital design tools. I learned that my fundamental mission was to understand the problem before looking for the solution. The dedication and hard work led to my team winning a Pulitzer Prize for spot reporting in 1997.
McCann-Erickson taught me how to work among leaders
My Madison Avenue journey would start at McCann, as a young designer in their production studio, where I was fortunate to work on new business pitches like Samuel Adams, Heineken and the MasterCard priceless campaign. I learned the basic building blocks of how to deliver world-class creative while supporting an impactful leader.
The early power of the web and new business model innovation
During the first web boom - I was recruited by the parent company of priceline.com, Walker Digital. I was part of an agile innovation lab and our job was to invent and market new business models that were only becoming possible in this new online world.
Digital experiences to drive engagement
Eventually I’d go on to lead a digital creative department at Story Worldwide, overseeing 22 brands, including: Klondike, Vaseline, Bertolli, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Green Giant and Google.

Then I joined Infor, a $3B business applications company, as their first Head of Product Design & Innovation
and went to work on reimagining the possibilities of technology for people at work.
At Infor I created…
A specialized design think-tank inside a legacy business applications company, of course.

Then co-created a new digital consulting practice inside Infor
Including a complete platform and service model for creating new digital experiences
and unlocking transformative business models through human-centered design

What next?
Well, I briefly went to work for Facebook.
As a part of the enterprise engineering leadership team, I led a design team to drive the overall experience of Facebook’s emerging enterprise platforms.

Then, as a founding partner of Arcspring, a next-generation private equity firm, I led a team that helped portfolio companies accelerate value creation through digital transformation.
